The Los Angeles Dodgers know they will have a major battle on their hands as they prepare for the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. While the Dodgers are the two-time defending World Series champions and they have one of the most talented rosters in recent memory, the Brewers had a spectacular regular season with a Major League-best 103 vcitories.
The Brewers will have homefield advantage in a series that is a rematch of last year's NLCS. The Dodgers swept the Brewers in that series and went on to beat the Toronto Blue Jays in 7 games to win the World Series.
Relatively unheralded Migue Rojas was one of the heroes for the Dodgers in that World Series. He hit the game-tying home run in the ninth inning of Game 7 just when it appeared the Dodgers were going down to defeat. They would win in 11 innings.
Article Continues BelowDodgers manager Dave Roberts says that Rojas is likely to be on the Dodgers roster in the NLCS. He had injured his back in Game 3 of the Division Series against the Atlanta Braves and he did not play in Game 4. Rojas has made progress since the Dodgers clinched that series with a victory in Game 4 Wednesday night.
The Dodgers and Brewers will open the series Sunday night in Milwaukee. Tarik Skubal will be on the mound for Roberts and the Dodgers and he will be opposed by Milwaukee fireballer Jacob Misiorowski in Game 1 of the series. Skubal is a two-time Cy Young Award winner, while Misiorowski is likely to come away with the National League Cy Young Award this season.
