Blake Snell has had enough of the confusion. The Dodgers left-hander joined the broadcast booth during Friday's game against the Giants and used the airtime to settle a running clubhouse debate with Tarik Skubal, who has been calling him the younger of the two.

“We got to get this right, you know, it's a lot of comments and people don't know who big bro and little bro is,” Snell said in the middle of the game. “I'm big bro. Little bro's right there.”

He then turned his attention to the man on the mound. “You never know what he's gonna say,” Snell said. “Little bro, he's a crazy guy. But he's throwing cheese right now.”

Snell has the math on his side. He turns 34 in December, while Skubal is 29, making the older-brother claim fairly straightforward. That has not stopped Skubal from insisting otherwise.

The dispute went public after the Dodgers clinched the NL West on Sept. 17 with an 8-2 win over the Reds. Amid the celebration, Skubal made his own declaration on camera. “This is my best friend,” he said. “He's my little brother.”

The two have leaned into the bit hard since Los Angeles acquired Skubal from the Tigers at the trade deadline. They have pulled pranks on each other in the clubhouse, knocked over each other's chairs, and traded Step Brothers-inspired jokes on social media. Skubal recently posted an AI-generated video of the pair rapping Migos' “Hotel Lobby,” captioned simply with a reference to his “lil bro.”

That post drew attention beyond the joke. Skubal is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and Dodgers fans have read his comfort in the clubhouse as a sign he may want to stay. He has gone 4-2 with a 2.95 ERA across nine starts since the trade.

Snell, meanwhile, is working his way back after leaving a start against Cincinnati with left groin tightness. Both are expected to anchor a postseason rotation alongside Yoshinobu Yamamoto, with Tyler Glasnow also in the mix if health allows.

Whatever the birth order, Los Angeles will take both of them in October.
