Four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski is refusing to throw Terry Bradshaw under the bus after a hilariously awkward television moment went viral.
During a recent edition of “FOX NFL Sunday,” the former New England Patriots tight end declared Arizona Cardinals star Trey McBride “the best tight end in the NFL right now”. Just seconds after Gronkowski delivered that massive praise, Bradshaw chimed in with a bewildered question: “What about McBride?”
The comical slip-up immediately sent the set into fits of laughter. Host Curt Menefee quickly reminded the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback that Gronkowski had literally just finished talking about McBride. Fellow analyst Michael Strahan could not contain his amusement either, while Bradshaw immediately defended himself by insisting the blunder was actually a genius “setup” to mess with his co-hosts.
Rather than clowning the Hall of Fame quarterback, Gronkowski brushed off the viral moment with optimism. Speaking with Front Office Sports, Gronkowski chose to give his colleague the benefit of the doubt.
“I think Terry Bradshaw got us all,” Gronkowski told Front Office Sports. “He wanted to throw us off.”

Whether Bradshaw pulled off an elite troll job or simply spaced out on live television, Gronkowski's evaluation of McBride stands on solid ground. The former Colorado State star has emerged as a premier weapon for Arizona. McBride enjoyed a breakout 2025 campaign, recording 126 receptions for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns. He continued his heavy involvement early in 2026, catching eight passes for 41 yards and a touchdown during a Week 2 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Rob Gronkowski knows a thing or two about elite tight end play after collecting four First-Team All-Pro selections during his career. If the future Hall of Famer believes McBride leads the current pack, fans should take his word for it, even if Bradshaw needed a quick refresher.
