In the second Battle of the Legends between Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson in Philadelphia, Delaware State got its second straight win. While Norfolk State controlled most of the afternoon, Delaware State fought back and ultimately secured a needed victory to stay alive in the MEAC championship race.
Early in the third quarter, Norfolk State enjoyed a 24-10 lead after Da'Jean Golmond found Jason Wonodi for a 23-yard touchdown pass. After Marqui Adams found Terrence Rone for a 40-yard touchdown, Norfolk State scored another touchdown minutes later on a Ravon Moore 3-yard rush. It looked like Norfolk State would hold on and win, but Delaware State then scored 17 unanswered points, including a game-winning 35-yard field goal by Patrick Fischer Butler.
While Golmond had a stellar game, throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns, he had two costly interceptions that stalled momentum for Norfolk State as they looked to hold on to the lead and ultimately win the game. Meanwhile, Delaware State found productivity from Marqui Adams. Adams is a veteran for Delaware State in their quarterback room, joining the team in the 2022 season and emerging as QB1 in 2023 and 2024. In DeSean Jackson's first year with the Hornets, he didn't see any playing time and found little playing time to start this season, only playing in three games prior to week 9 and seeing limited action in those three games.

He also had 69 carries for 18 yards, including a 21-yard run. He found four different receivers for a touchdown: Terrence Rone, Jaylin Terzado, Kyree Benton, and Jaron Kelly.
