DeMeco Ryans is losing patience over the constant penalties the Houston Texans are committing after their 27-21 overtime loss to the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon.
Ryans is going through his fourth season as the Texans' head coach. He led them to the playoff three times, looking for a fourth straight appearance as the team shakes off a poor start to the 2026 season.
The Texans committed eight penalties for 80 yards throughout their matchup against the Giants. It's become a common trend for Houston to struggle when it comes to penalties this season, now averaging over eight flags per game through the first seven weeks.
Ryans reflected on the mistakes after the game. He didn't mince words about the penalties, demanding accountability and solutions from the team to avoid committing them in pivotal moments.
“The penalties are ridiculous. It keeps happening, over and over again, so we gotta find a way to fix it or get different people in so we don’t have the same mistakes over and over again,” Ryans said.
