One of New York Knicks star OG Anunoby's biggest fans is Anne Hathaway, who had to explain who he is to her Verity co-stars Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.
The trio of Verity stars competed on Hot Ones Versus. At one point, Hathaway was holding cards with names on her head, and her co-stars had to describe them so she could guess them.
However, neither Hartnett nor Johnson knew who he was. Johnson seemed especially confused, claiming, “That's not real,” before turning her attention to those off-camera, saying, “You f*****g a*sholes. This is a real thing?”

Hartnett smartly gave her context clues despite not knowing Anunoby, describing, “If you're saying that something goes way back and they're, like, original gangsters.” Hathaway got it with that clue, and she was relieved to be done, joking, “I need a water after that one. It's nerve-wracking.”
She then explained who Anunoby is to them. Johnson still couldn't believe that was a “real person.” Hathaway then recounted his iconic Game 4 tip-in: “Game 4 of the NBA [Finals], one of the greatest baskets ever scored by a player is OG Anunoby, and you just have to watch it. It's poetry in motion. It's divine.”
Article Continues BelowHathaway then explained her fandom. She always asks for courtside seats to Knicks games for her birthday. Hathaway recounted Anunoby running right into her and her son while going for a loose ball.
The acclaimed actress went viral for talking about Anunoby on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in April 2026. She almost wore his jersey on the show. He later gifted her an autographed jersey after the Knicks won the NBA Finals.
After she revealed her Anunoby fandom, he went on a hot streak. After the shoutout, he averaged 23.5 points per game and made 18 of his 22 shots in the next two.
