Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb conjured the biggest receiving performance of his career against the Houston Texans on Sunday in his first game inside Reliant Stadium, and having his grandmother in the stands made the afternoon even more meaningful.
The 27-year-old grew up in Richmond, Texas, around 24 miles from Reliant Stadium. Although he had attended a game there as a child, Sunday was his first time playing at the stadium. Lamb made the occasion memorable by catching 17 passes for 189 yards and the game-winning 12-yard touchdown with 40 seconds remaining in Dallas' 34-30 win. Five of his catches came when it mattered most, during the final drive.
Lamb called it “everything” to do what he did in Houston.
“(This city means) everything,” he said after the game. “My grandma came out, that was really good to see. She doesn't really come to many of my games. It was good to see my family here. It's been a long road to end up in this situation, and I'm grateful for it. And just coming back and seeing a lot of things that I'm familiar with growing up, it was fire.”

Lamb entered Sunday having never caught more than 13 passes in a game. His 189 receiving yards was the third-highest output of his career, behind his 227-yard outing versus the Detroit Lions and 191-yard performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.
The game also marked Lamb's 30th career 100-yard receiving performance and his seventh with at least 150 yards. Since 2020, only Justin Jefferson and Davante Adams have more 100-yard games.
Lamb also moved past Hall of Famer Drew Pearson for fourth place on the franchise's all-time receiving-yardage list, reaching 7,914 yards. He now trails Tony Hill by 74 yards for third place.
