The Dallas Cowboys return from Brazil to take on the Houston Texans in Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season. They will look to bounce back from a narrow 34-31 defeat against the Baltimore Ravens and will now travel to the Reliant Stadium.
However, they have already suffered a comprehensive injury blow, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota. Defensive Tackle Jonathan Bullard and safety Jalen Thompson have both been moved to the injury reserve and are expected to miss at least four games.
The Cowboys have till date produced offensive fireworks but the results have been mixed, leaving Brian Schottenheimer’s squad at a 1-2 record through the first three weeks. Dallas kicked off the year with a frustrating 28-20 divisional road loss to the New York Giants before bouncing back in Week 2 with a commanding 37-20 home victory over the Washington Commanders.
The team’s most recent outing came in a showcase at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, where they lost 34-31 against the Ravens. And while the offense has been consistent, the Cowboys are currently surrendering an average of 27.3 points per game. Still, quarterback Dak Prescott has operated at a high level, bolstered by a revamped supporting cast that has kept Dallas in every matchup.
CeeDee Lamb remains the undeniable passing cornerstone of the passing game, producing a seven-catch, 112-yard performance against the Ravens, while the addition of George Pickens has provided a secondary target. He pulled in seven receptions for 82 yards against Baltimore.
Javonte Williams rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown in Week 3, and Dallas undoubtedly need to sort out their defence in order to mount a comeback. The likes of Quinnen Williams, Rashan Gary, and Kenny Clark have struggled thus far, with Derrick Henry producing 89 rushing yards and two crucial touchdowns in Brazil.
