The Dallas Cowboys have added a new player to their defense, trading for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Porter has yet to suit up this season as he's dealt with a back injury, but the hope is that he makes his debut this week against the Houston Texans.
“We’re just trying to take things day by day, and if everything looks good, then we should be out there,” Porter said via ESPN's Todd Archer.
As for head coach Brian Schottenheimer, he's optimistic about Porter playing but will not say for sure if he plays.
Article Continues Below“We'd like him to play, but we'll see how the week goes. I think he's excited about the opportunity to maybe play, but we'll see how the rest of the week goes,” the coach said. “But it was a good start today.”
