The Indianapolis Colts appear to be preparing for another significant roster move ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Indianapolis has already parted ways with several established players, including offensive guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, and now star running back Jonathan Taylor has reportedly emerged as another potential departure.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Colts have shifted their stance on Taylor and are now willing to entertain trade offers for the veteran running back.
“The Indianapolis Colts now are open to trading star running back Jonathan Taylor, sources told @RapSheet and me. Multiple teams have reached out to Indianapolis, and those talks are said to be active and ongoing, according to sources,” Schefter wrote.
Taylor's potential availability could generate significant interest across the league, considering his production, experience, and reputation as one of the NFL's most explosive running backs.
Reportedly, the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and Seattle Seahawks are among the teams that have expressed interest in acquiring the Colts star.
However, Indianapolis is reportedly looking for a premium return before considering a deal for its franchise running back. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Colts have already rejected an offer involving a 2027 second-round draft pick and an additional selection for Taylor.

Amid Indianapolis' struggles this season, Taylor has continued to demonstrate why he remains one of the league's most dangerous offensive weapons. The former Wisconsin standout has accumulated 587 rushing yards and eight touchdowns through seven games this season.
However, amid the growing trade speculation, Colts fans can still expect to see their star running back on the field Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, as he is expected to play in the Week 8 matchup.
