During a recent media availability, Deion Sanders spoke about the viral video of the Colorado players insulting Northwestern's temporary stadium following the team's 41-7 loss. In the video, players are heard saying various insults about the venue, such as “This place f*cking sucks” and “Sh*t sounds like a f*cking library.”

Sanders admonished the comments and apologized on behalf of his players.
Article Continues Below“We had great conversations, and they went on to kick our butts, but I have the utmost respect for that school, that team, what they're doing with the program. Some foolishness came out of it, and we want to correct our wrongs and make it right right now.”
He then brought Ben Finneseth to the podium to issue an apology for the comments. Finneseth is one of the players that made the comments about Northwestern that were captured on video.
“Yeah, no, I just want to apologize to you guys, everyone that's tied in with the university, everyone at Northwestern, everyone that supports us, my teammates, my coaches. It was childish. It was a stupid thing that I said. It won't happen again, and the way I handled it was horrible. I promise you guys that it will not happen again, and it will be much more mature moving forward. I apologize.”
Finneseth is one of Colorado's most tenured players and had been part of the team before Sanders' arrival in 2023. He joined the football team as a walk-on in 2021 and ultimately worked his way to becoming a productive contributor as a defensive back for the program.
