The Colorado football team suffered yet another loss on Saturday. This time the Buffaloes bowed to Arizona State, 20-10. Colorado head coach Deion Sanders dropped a defiant take after suffering yet another Big 12 conference defeat.

“I don't think about that, man. I'm not here for my job. I'm here for these young men. I'm not, I'm not built like that. Like, like, I'm really not. I'm really, really, really not,” Sanders said postgame when asked about his job security, per ESPN.

Colorado is now 3-6 on the season, following this loss. One more loss will assure Sanders of his third losing season in four years as Colorado's head coach.

Sanders understands the frustration, but wants to focus on helping his team perform better.

“This is not how it's supposed to be, and we could apologize a thousand times to the fanbase, to you all,” Sanders said of the loss. “But unless we get it together, it's gonna be the same ol', same ol'. And that's pathetic because … the fanbase deserves better.”

The Colorado football program is struggling in the Big 12

The Buffaloes are now just 1-5 in Big 12 play. Colorado has just two conference wins since the start of the 2025 season. Sanders is seen as coaching on the hot seat, by the national news media.

Sanders is still standing by this team.

“Didn't see quit, didn't see anybody being lethargic, didn't see them giving up by any means, but it was way too late,” Sanders said. “I wish we had started off like that instead of end up like that.”

Colorado has Big 12 games left this season against Houston, Cincinnati and UCF. Colorado must win out in order to finish the season with a .500 record, and make a bowl game.

Time will tell if Sanders' days are numbered at Colorado. The Buffaloes next play Houston on Friday.
