The Houston Astros took a 6-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox in the MLB Wild Card Round, and it's safe to say their backs are against the wall. Though the loss may hurt, what's worse is that it may have felt like a road game for the Astros, as the fans started to boo them during the game.

There's no doubt that fans want the best from their team, but the players believe that their support could go a long way toward what they want to accomplish.

“The fans here are definitely spoiled with a lot of ALCS and World Series runs, and we have to earn that right to bring this team back to that position,” Bennett Sousa said via Chandler Rome of The Athletic. “That being said, when this team was in their first (playoff) series 10 years ago, Minute Maid Park was probably packed. It makes a big difference. If we were in Chicago, it’d probably be loud as s—.”

As for Christian Walker, he's frustrated about the lack of support in Game 1.

“It’s extremely frustrating as a home player,” Walker said. “We’re here, playing at home; we need cheers. We need energy. We don’t need boos. What purpose does that serve in that moment? Whatever fans are feeling, we’re feeling it tenfold. We’re the ones out there. We’re the ones in the fight. We worked our butts off this whole season to put ourselves in this spot, and for guys to get booed, it’s frustrating.”

The good news is that Astros fans have a chance to redeem themselves in Game 2, but it's hard to feel like they'll support the team if they don't perform well. That means it's up to the Astros to give them something to cheer about instead of booing.
