Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce played against the Denver Broncos despite some injury concerns during the week. However, he was unable to prevent the team from losing 28-24 to the Broncos. The Chiefs failed to convert on a first-and-goal late in the game, in part due to a false start penalty that waved off a potential game-winning touchdown.
Kelce was not pleased with the team's performance, and called out himself to do better.
“The reality of things is that we got to fix a lot. And the little things, mistakes. And is starts with the person that you're looking in the mirror. And I'm one of them. I've been frustrated with myself on how long I've been in the league and the procedural stuff that's happened for the past three games,” Kelce said.
“I gotta be better for my teammates. That sets the tone for a lot of people in this room and everybody's just got to up the ante from that.”
Kelce finished with a strong line of five catches for 67 yards, which was second on the team behind rookie Emmett Johnson's 128 receiving yards. At age 37, he is still indispensable to the Chiefs offense. He leads the team with 343 receiving yards and is tied for the lead in both receptions (24) and touchdowns (2).

Based on their back-to-back losses to the Seattle Seahawks and the Broncos after previously being undefeated, it's clear the Chiefs need to clean some things up. They no longer appear to be that dominant team of the past with a wide margin of error, so they cannot afford to make costly mistakes if they want to compete for another championship.
