The Arizona Cardinals found themselves in the middle of pure gridiron chaos during Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew came off the bench in the third quarter for Jacoby Brissett and engineered a thrilling late comeback, connecting with wide receiver Michael Wilson on a 13-yard touchdown pass with just 6 seconds remaining in regulation. However, what should have been a regulation victory turned into overtime drama when kicker Chad Ryland pulled the potential game-winning extra point wide left.

Instead of letting the missed kick deflate the sideline, Minshew immediately rallied the locker room with his trademark infectious energy. Speaking with reporters after the game, Minshew broke down how the team quickly wiped the slate clean.

“Two or thirty thirty got a chance to go play these boys in overtime, let's freaking go. You know, sign me up,” Minshew said. “So I think that's how quick can you reset, how quick can you, cause I think that this is a game that was a total testament to that you know. Forget what happened before, forget everything that's happened to this point. Just keep going, keep giving yourselves a chance and we had a group of fighters today that was a lot of fun to go with.”

Minshew's unbreakable mindset paid off instantly in the extra frame. After replacing Brissett, the veteran signal-caller put together a masterful performance, completing 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and 3 touchdowns. Running back Tyler Allgeier added explosive power to the offense, rushing for 147 yards on 11 carries to help Arizona outgain Dallas 467-261.

After the Cardinals' defense forced a punt in overtime, Minshew marched the offense 44 yards downfield. That set up Ryland for a 42-yard field goal attempt, and the kicker split the uprights to redeem himself and lock up a 33-30 victory. Minshew’s poise under pressure proved that no matter how bizarre the circumstances get, Arizona always has a puncher's chance.
