The Kansas City Chiefs have not had Josh Simmons on the field much over his two-year career. The 2025 first-round pick has missed significant time due to a back issue and is currently on injured reserve because of it.

But aside from his spotty injury record, it's his attitude that may end up costing him a spot on the Chiefs.

According to an ESPN report by Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport, Simmons was kicked out of a meeting by head coach Andy Reid and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The incident stemmed from Simmons having his feet up in the offense's meeting room. Reid asked him to put his feet down, but Simmons pushed back, citing back and hip pain as the reason why he had to sit that way.

Reid told Simmons to check in with the trainers if he was really in pain. The situation in the meeting room escalated to the point where Mahomes also chimed in and back Reid's request for Simmons to leave and get treatment.

Simmons eventually did leave the room. Later that day, he apologized to Reid and the team's leadership for his behavior.

As noted by Garafolo and Rapoport, Simmons is a talented left tackle given his combination of strength and athleticism. But his ongoing health issues and lack of availability are already a major concern. He does not need to added another issue in the form of his questionable attitude, as it could lead the Chiefs to cut ties with him sooner rather that later.
