Kenneth Walker III's place in the Kansas City Chiefs offense got a firm endorsement from coordinator Eric Bieniemy following the season opener.
Walker was the player of the night against the Denver Broncos in Week 1. He racked up 23 rushes for 173 yards and a touchdown while making three catches for 18 yards and a touchdown. This included a major highlight in the third quarter where he torched the defenders for a 60-yard touchdown.
Bieniemy talked about Walker ahead of the team's Week 2 matchup with reporters. While Kansas City will monitor the star rusher's activity, they won't go as far as to limit his carries on a game-by-game basis.
âÂÂWell, I'll say this, going into any game, one thing that we're not gonna do, we're not gonna minimize what we do. We want our players to go out and maximize every opportunity. Every opportunity that they're in the game, yes, we want them to be productive. On top of that, we got guys that are backing players up that need to fill those roles now. Ideally, what'd he have? Twenty-three? Some people have carried it a whole lot more than that. So I don't think you want to put a limit on anything. I think the sky is the limit,â Bieniemy said.
Bieniemy says Kenneth Walker III will not have a preset carry limit.
