Those who watched the clash involving two of the top teams not just of the AFC West but of the conference surely got a thrill, especially from the way the game ended.

The Chiefs had a nine-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter, but Bo Nix and the Broncos uncorked 15 unanswered points in the final period to erase that deficit and score a 28-24 win.

Denver tight end Nate Adkins scored a receiving touchdown and that was followed up by a successful two-point conversion try by the Broncos with under eight minutes left in the game to cut Kansas City's lead, 24-21. With under two minutes in regulation, Broncos running back Johan Coleman found the end zone on a five-yard run to put Denver in front, 28-24.

The Chiefs still had enough time to respond, but Mahomes was sacked on fourth-and-goal on the final play by Denver defensive tackle Malcolm Roach to seal the win for Denver.

Nix finished with 222 passing yards and two touchdowns, with zero interceptions on 20-of-32 completions, as Denver moved to the top of the AFC West with a 6-2 record. Mahomes and the Chiefs, who beat the Broncos in Week 1, dropped to 5-2.
