The Los Angeles Chargers are in shambles offensively, but when a team is 0-7 and is destroying its fan base a bit more each week, any change will probably help. The Bolts are signing cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis, per insider Jordan Schultz.

The 2022 fourth-round draft pick won a national championship with Alabama and played for both the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans during the first four years of his NFL career. He has yet to log a snap this season, but perhaps an opportunity awaits him in LA.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh probably gathered some intel from older brother and New York Giants HC John Harbaugh, who oversaw Armour-Davis' development on the Ravens from 2022-24. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound CB did not play a ton in Charm City, as injuries often got in the way, but he recorded 34 combined tackles and two passes defended in 11 games for Tennessee last season.

A long corner who could bring physicality is always intriguing, and this squad could certainly use some intrigue.

A respected and accomplished coach like Harbaugh has had no answers as this franchise continues to float in the abyss. Justin Herbert, a visibly talented quarterback who finished ninth for MVP voting twice before, looks painfully lost on the field and is among the worst at his position this year. Mike McDaniel, a creative play-caller who guided the Miami Dolphins to consecutive playoff berths for the first time in 20-plus years, is leading a Chargers offense that is averaging a league-worst 14.1 points per game.

This organization has certainly experienced its fair share of dysfunction, but this free fall is truly astonishing when considering the collective abilities of that aforementioned trio. There are roster deficiencies that must be addressed, but there is likely little LA can do right now. Perhaps Jalyn Armour-Davis could light a spark, however.

The 27-year-old will join a defense that is allowing 198.4 passing yards per game, which is seventh-best in the NFL. When the foundation of an organization implodes, new opportunities tend to emerge. Armour-Davis aims to seize this one.
