On Tuesday afternoon, the Boston Celtics held an intro press conference for some of the new members of their team, including trade acquisition Paul George. George was brought in by the team in a controversial deal that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this summer.
Now, George has given an update on his health as the new season quickly approaches.
âÂÂI feel great again. I feel like I've turned a corner of dealing with injuries, and now kind of reestablishing myself and from a physical standpoint again,â said George, per John Kalaris of Locked on Celtics on X, formerly Twitter.
George has dealt with several injury setbacks over the last few years, dating back to his time with the Los Angeles Clippers. While he clearly has lost a step athletically even when fully healthy, Boston will still hope that he is able to stay on the floor as often as possible this year as he enters his late 30s.

In theory, a healthy George might work better for the Celtics' particular needs than what Brown provided, as he is a more accurate three-point marksman and also tends to get lost on defense less often.
However, health and age will both be major concerns at this stage of his career, and he doesn't provide the sheer scoring prowess that Brown did during his tenure.
Boston will kick off its new season on October 20 vs the Detroit Pistons.
