Another Boston Celtics game, another outstanding performance from Jayson Tatum. The Celtics superstar knocked down a game-winning jumper to defeat the Brooklyn Nets in a thrilling overtime finish on Tuesday, securing a narrow 125-124 victory. Boston's third win of the season also marked a significant career milestone for Tatum.

Despite entering the matchup as favorites, the Celtics struggled to contain Brooklyn for much of the game before Tatum's late-game heroics helped them secure their third consecutive win since dropping their season opener.

Tatum led Boston with 40 points and eight assists without committing a single turnover, while attempting a career-high 22 free throws. With this performance, he joined Larry Bird as the only other Celtics player to record at least 35 points, eight assists and zero turnovers in a game. Tatum also shot 10-of-20 from the field and converted 18 of his 22 free-throw attempts.

Moreover, Tatum became the fourth Celtics player in the last 30 seasons to hit an overtime buzzer-beater. Over his last three games, the superstar has averaged 33.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. Boston's season-opening loss and his recent feud with former teammate Jaylen Brown seemingly provided additional motivation for Tatum to elevate his performance.

Paul George added 20 points, while Derrick White contributed 16 as the Celtics improved their record to 3-1 on the season.
