The Arizona Cardinals questionably selected a running back with the No. 3 overall pick before addressing other pressing needs, but when healthy, Jeremiyah Love has a chance to put on a captivating show for fans. The former Notre Dame star made an impact in his first NFL game last Sunday, and now that he is another week removed from his ankle injury, State Farm Stadium could witness the young ball-carrier at full force. He thinks so, anyway.

“I didn't feel limited by my ankle…. just got to be mindful of where my body is,” Love told the media, per Bo Brack of PHNX Sports. “Heading into this next week, it’s all gas no brakes. If I'm on the field, I'm going. Whether my ankle is going to fall off, I'm on the field I got to do my job.”

The 2025 unanimous All-American ran the ball 11 times for 41 yards and scored the first touchdown of the Cardinals' 2026 season, doing his part to help Arizona pull off a big upset road win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He also added two receptions for nine yards. There may be some growing pains, and literal pain, but Love was widely considered one of the best players in the 2026 NFL Draft class.

He can strengthen that claim with a big showing versus the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday. The Cardinals have placed a significant amount of faith in this 21-year-old back. Eventually, they will give Jeremiyah Love the chance to unleash the full range of his abilities. Perhaps a home opener against the reigning Super Bowl champions is a good time to start.
