The Chicago Bulls opened the preseason Wednesday night against the Phoenix Suns at the United Center. It was also the first time that Caleb Wilson hit the floor at the Madhouse on Madison.

Everyone in the arena was waiting for the moment when Wilson would get a shot up. It came at the 6:13 minute mark of the first quarter with the Bulls leading 20-17. Wilson scored his first bucket with a turnaround fadeaway jumper, per ClutchPoints. A shot beautifully executed by a certain someone who attended the same University as Wilson: North Carolina.

That certain someone played guard, stood at 6 feet 6 inches, and was named Michael Jordan.

Throughout his career, Jordan, whenever heavily covered by a defender and with no room to penetrate the lane, would turn around, step back, and let it go. More often than not, it would go in.

Wilson is following in the pantheon of not just Jordan, but of other players who came out of North Carolina and then blossomed in Chicago. In addition to Jordan, Scott Williams and Coby White came from North Carolina.

Wilson is beginning the season saturated with all sorts of hype. The hype is that he will be the next breakout star to come out of the Windy City. Not only that, but Wilson is also a Rookie of the Year favorite. It's going to be a long season for Wilson and the Bulls as they look to rebuild from scratch.

But so far, Wilson is showcasing his potential before the regular season begins.
