It was bad enough that Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was forced to witness a brutal beatdown in Lambeau Field on Sunday, but he also had to hear Green Bay Packers linebacker Zaire Franklin punctuate the 31-7 loss with a victory lap. The former Second-Team All-Pro used Luther Burden III's “make them quit” comments against him and fired a broader shot at the team. Williams took note of everything that was said.

“We see all the little weird stuff they be doing in the media and all the different stuff they be saying,” Franklin unloaded, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “You got guys that never really made a real play in this league talkin' 'bout making somebody quit. That's weird. We don't do that. {Burden} quit today, by the way. He ain't wanna play anymore.”

Williams liked a post that included a portion of that fiery soundbite, sending a message to the Packers and Cheeseheads everywhere that he will remember these remarks when the two bitter rivals meet again on Christmas Day.

Burden opened the Bears up for ridicule with his earlier comments, but regardless of what spurred Franklin's postgame criticism, players are not just going to tip their helmets and bow down to Green Bay. They are now seeking retribution. Though, before this squad gets the opportunity to avenge this stinging divisional defeat, it must navigate a tricky stretch that includes matchups against the Atlanta Falcons and the Super Bowl 60 participants.

Caleb Williams is trending toward a Week 6 return. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 407 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for another 107 yards and two TDs, before suffering a hamstring strain in September. This team stayed afloat by earning home wins over the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets, but Sunday's lopsided outcome was a painful reminder that this offense can only do so much without No. 18.

Williams has the playmaking ability needed to flip momentum versus the Packers. He did it twice last season. Zaire Franklin and Green Bay (3-2) will turn the page on the Bears (3-2) for now, but when they visit Soldier Field on Dec. 25, they will face a squad that is perfectly aware of what transpired on Oct. 11.
