The Indiana Fever did not have the 2026 WNBA season they hoped for. Indiana got crushed by Las Vegas in Game 3 of their playoff series, ending the season on a low note. Now the Fever's biggest star has an important message for fans that transcends the game of basketball.
Fever guard Caitlin Clark condemned fans who use her to spread racist and hateful rhetoric during her exit interview on Thursday.
“I think as her teammate it makes me upset … I think as far as people that have used me to demonstrate racist hate or rhetoric, that's not something I stand for … It's never been something I stand for,” Clark declared, per Meghan L. Hall of USA TODAY.
Clark's comments were in response to recent remarks from her teammate Kelsey Mitchell. The veteran forward admitted that it has been “tough” playing on the Fever with Clark because of the negative attention some fans bring to the team.
