The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fallen to 0-4 following their loss to the Green Bay Packers. Meanwhile, head coach Todd Bowles’ job security has now become a major question surrounding the team. However, Buccaneers star offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs wants no part in getting involved in that discussion.

When asked about Bowles’ job security, Wirfs openly said that he did not want to speculate about his coach’s future, while also expressing his personal support for Bowles.

“No comment, I don't know. I love Bowles,” Wirfs said.

Tampa Bay entered the 2026 season with expectations of competing for the NFC South, but four consecutive losses have now put the Buccaneers in a difficult position.

The Buccaneers opened the season with a 33-27 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals before falling 23-19 to the Cleveland Browns and 23-16 to the Minnesota Vikings. They then suffered a 17-14 loss against Green Bay.

All four losses have come by seven points or fewer, meaning Tampa Bay has repeatedly remained within striking distance but has been unable to turn those opportunities into victories.

Following the loss to Green Bay, Bowles did not shy away from taking responsibility for Tampa Bay’s disappointing start. The Buccaneers head coach admitted that the team has failed to make the necessary plays late in games and also made it clear that he believes the responsibility for improving the situation starts with him.

Despite the pressure surrounding his position, Bowles does have a history of success in Tampa Bay. Bowles can certainly point to the three division titles he has won as a strong argument in his favor.

However, the Buccaneers are now 0-4 for the first time since 2013. Another loss would make the road back considerably more difficult.

Bowles knows the Buccaneers need results rather than explanations, and his job security will inevitably remain tied to whether he can finally help the team turn its close losses into victories and get the season back on track.
