Baker Mayfield is focused on winning games, not worrying about his performance in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 16-0 shutout win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon.
Mayfield has been playing in the NFL since 2018, going through his fourth season with the Buccaneers. He stands out as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, helping Tampa Bay be in the picture for playoff contention.
However, Mayfield surprisingly recorded a dud against Atlanta's defense. He only attempted three passes for the entire game while rushing four times for 14 yards. He reflected on his performance after the game, emphasizing that weather conditions impacted how he and the team approached their display on the field.
“Obviously, ball security in these conditions. We had some early ones. You know, decided to go to the shotgun and pistol sets. Just easier to receive the snaps instead of it coming back through your hands under center. So, going from there, and just really trying to manage the game and time management, trying to bleed as much clock as possible. Just get everybody on the same page and go from there. So that's my job in these conditions. And listen, I'll do whatever it takes to win. That's all that matters to me,” Mayfield said.
"I'll do whatever it takes to win."
