Talanoa Hufanga rose as the momentum swinger in the 30-26 Denver Broncos comeback win over the Los Angeles Rams. He plucked two Matthew Stafford passes to boost the Broncos' winning bid. Although he dropped a hilarious faith admission regarding his pick six of Stafford.
Hufanga handed Denver the lead first on his 66-yard touchdown return. But he turned to Jesus for another reason.
“I passed the tight end off to Jesus to cover him,” Hufanga said via NFL insider for Sports Illustrated Albert Breer.
Hufanga's “prayer” certainly helped in that moment. Especially for a Broncos team that trailed 16-0 at halftime and looked overmatched at first.
But Hufanga wasn't through with becoming a closet go-to target for Stafford. His pick six ignited the crowd energy and finally put Denver out in front. Yet interception No. 2 sealed the comeback victory.

Hufanga rose as a past thorn to the side of the Rams before. He established himself as a hard-hitting, ball-hawking safety for the San Francisco 49ers. Only this time he delivers his first-ever two interception outing with the Broncos. And fittingly, he pulled off this feat against a past fierce rival of his.
So Hufanga turned to Jesus when it mattered the most. But Denver overcame another miracle: Having allowed nearly 500 total yards of offense but still winning the game.
Los Angeles became the 11th team in league history to gain at least 480 yards on offense, while holding the opposition to 260 or under and still lose. Turnovers and Hufanga became the primary reason behind that new history the Rams hit.
