Coach Sean Payton's Denver Broncos took on perennial powerhouse the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8 action that came after an RJ Harvey injury decision. Payton's team's rumored interest of Jonathan Taylor got an update as Bo Nix, Brandon Jones and the Broncos battled in a close game.

The Broncos took a hit on the injury front as defensive back Brandon Jones was ruled out with a hamstring injury according to James Palmer of the NFL on Prime.

The Broncos safety Jones had three tackles against Reid's team, which led 17-13 on the road at halftime, and 24-21 as of the fourth quarter in a game that became hotly contested.

Payton's team was attempting to avenge a Week 1 beatdown at the hands of Patrick Mahomes and company, but didn't fully learn their lessons as Mahomes lit them up for three touchdowns as of the eight-minute mark of the fourth quarter.

Broncos quarterback Bo Nix answered back with 170 yards and two touchdowns as of the fourth quarter, but his Jonah Coleman-led running game faltered as Coleman led the team with just 37 yards heading down the stretch. The Chiefs had over 100 yards more than Payton's team with Denver trailing by 3 and missing their starting safety, Jones.

Jones' absence was felt as the Chiefs' passing game had a banner day and Nix struggled to keep up. The Broncos seemed a bit short on depth as the Chiefs' strength-in-numbers approach continued to keep them at bay. Both teams entered the game with winning records, but Kansas City looked poised to win its sixth game as fans continued to cheer on their Broncos.
