On Sunday afternoon, the Denver Broncos hit the road for a game against the Carolina Panthers. The Broncos entered this game coming off a big home win vs the Kansas City Chiefs last week, but unfortunately, they got a big injury scare early in this one.
The scare occurred when star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle took a big hit while attempting to make a catch.
He was then taken back into the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. The good news is that Waddle was able to jog off the field on his own power after the play.
The hit itself was not penalized, although a pass interference was called, as was a taunting penalty on cornerback Marco Wilson for standing over Waddle after the play.
The Broncos were able to get off to a solid start to this one, leading 10-0 after the first quarter of play, although Carolina sliced into the lead in the second frame. Meanwhile, Waddle has given Bo Nix and the offense a big lift this season, adding playmaking and a vertical threat down the field to help Denver expand its offensive attack.
The Broncos will certainly hope that Sunday's injury scare turns out not to be a concussion and that the former Miami Dolphins star isn't forced to miss time with the injury.
In any case, after the conclusion of the Panthers game, the Broncos will have a much-needed bye week and then next hit the field on November 22 for a home game vs the Las Vegas Raiders.
