The Las Vegas Raiders are currently gearing up for their Week 2 matchup on the road vs the Los Angeles Chargers. The Raiders are coming off a home win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, in a game in which tight end Brock Bowers did not play as he recovers from a meniscus procedure.

Bowers was not expected to miss too much time due to the ailment, but the team didn't get a great update on his status moving forward on Wednesday.

“#Raiders HC Klint Kubiak said TE Brock Bowers (knee) and CB Darien Porter (foot) will not practice today,” reported Ryan McFadden of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Bowers is widely expected to be among the top tight ends in the league this year, but unfortunately, his 2026 debut might have to wait a bit longer as he continues to recover from the surgery.

The Raiders had no problems picking apart an overmatched Dolphins defense on Sunday with veteran Kirk Cousins at the helm, but Bowers will certainly be needed to help out their suspect receiving core as the schedule starts to toughen up.

The Chargers seemingly present a much more difficult matchup on Sunday, although they didn't exactly get off to a great start to their season, losing at home to the Arizona Cardinals in semi-blowout fashion in a result that shocked large factions of the NFL world.

In any case, the Raiders and Chargers are set to kick things off on Sunday at 4:05 pm ET from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
