The Milwaukee Brewers compiled an MLB-best and franchise-record 103 wins during the 2026 regular season, but they did not earn that mark by only dominating opponents. This small-ball dynamo can rally and stun its opponent at the end when necessary. The Brew Crew snatched victory from the San Diego Padres in the first two games of their National League Division Series, and they are preparing to do the same in Tuesday night's elimination matchup.
William Contreras cut a 2-0 deficit in half with a 365-foot solo home run off Nick Pivetta in the top of the fourth inning. The three-time All-Star catcher breathed life into an offense that has struggled to score versus the formidable Padres and took some of the pressure off Brewers starter Dustin May.
Contreras does not have a good playoff track record, batting a paltry .211 with a .639 OPS in his first 20 postseason games, but he is still one of the best players on this team.
