Manager Pat Murphy's Milwaukee Brewers prepared to face the defending back-to-back World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers as it was revealed that All-Star Christian Yelich would have a new role. Murphy recalled the lessons learned from the 2025 NLCS while also predicting a big October run for left fielder Jackson Chourio.

Murphy appeared to predict more success for one of his favorite players in an interview with MLB Network Radio.

“Jack Jack is special, and just hanging around him, you'll see what we're talking about. There's a smile on his face, he's the same every single day…He's a special talent, takes pride in his game, should win the Gold Glove this year, and he's a tremendous hitter. All three games we won, he played a pivotal role offensively, in the San Diego series, so his October is heating up.”

Chourio is tied with William Contreras and Bryce Turang for most at-bats among Milwaukee players this postseason with 16. He hasn't hit well by regular season standards but has come up big in the clutch with a team-high six runs batted in. Chourio has only struck out once during his 16 at-bats and has also drawn a walk while manning the outfield.

Chourio's walk-off hit off off Padres star Mason Miller in the NLDS has become the stuff of legends, now he has the chance for an encore against the Dodgers. Murphy's team has homefield advantage but is a decided underdog, offering the perfect backdrop for players like Chourio to rise to the occasion and become MLB postseason legends in Milwaukee and beyond.
