The Milwaukee Brewers have a 3-0 series lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series. Milwaukee won Game 3, 10-1. The Brewers got a fabulous performance from Jackson Chourio, who made World Series history.
“Jackson Chourio is the first player in World Series history with two hits and a (stolen base) in an inning,” MLB reporter Sarah Langs posted to X, formerly Twitter.
According to Langs, only two other Major League Baseball players ever accomplished that feat in the playoffs. Those players are Rickey Henderson and Chuck Knoblauch. Neither of them did it in a World Series game.
Chourio just continues to have a special knack for posting hits in the playoffs.
“There are 47 instances in postseason history of a player having 2 hits in an inning…..Jackson Chourio is the only player to do it twice (2025 NLDS G1, 1st),” Langs posted to X.
The Brewers outfielder finished Game 3 with four total hits. He also posted two runs and an RBI.
“I was ready, and I wanted to win today,” Chourio said, per MLB.com. “I knew that us winning this game today, it was a big one and it was going to be a big one for us.”
Article Continues BelowThe Brewers have been fabulous in this World Series. Milwaukee posted 10 runs in Game 3, without a single player hitting a home run.
“That’s just the credit to these guys and the way they play the game,” Brewers hitting coach Dan Vogelbach said. “They just don't play the game in the batter’s box. Offense is way more than just hitting. These guys play for each other, and nobody wants to be the hero. They're OK with the next guy being it. They just pass the baton over and over again, and they're getting rewarded for it.”
Game 4 of the World Series is on Tuesday. The Brewers can make MLB history if the team wins and sweeps the Rays.
