Garrett Mitchell made the biggest defensive play of the Milwaukee Brewers’ postseason run when he robbed Manny Machado of a potential game-tying home run in Game 4 of the NLDS.

The catch helped preserve a 3-1 lead and left the San Diego Padres with one last chance before their season ended.

With Fernando Tatis Jr. on first base and two outs in the eighth inning, Machado sent a ball deep toward right-center field. The drive traveled 406 feet and appeared headed over the wall, but Mitchell reached above the fence and came down with the ball for the second out.

As caught on video, Machado immediately showed his frustration, grabbing his helmet after realizing the ball had stayed in the park. Instead of tying the game at 3, the Padres entered the ninth still trailing by two runs.
