The Milwaukee Brewers are back in the World Series for the first time since 1982 following their sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jake Bauers won the NLCS MVP award after his fantastic series, but is he the favorite to claim World Series MVP?
In a video posted by MLB Network, multiple pundits and personalities were asked who their picks were for World Series MVP, and one name that popped up twice was Brewers second baseman Brice Turang.
Host Matt Vasgersian, who was the first person asked in the video, went with Turang to win MVP since he was also predicting the Brewers to win the World Series. Vasgersian believes Turang will steal a couple of bases and hit a few home runs in the series en route to the award.
The second person to pick Turang for the award was Mark DeRosa, who also has the Brewers to win the series in six games. DeRosa is a bit biased, though, as he managed Turang with Team USA during the World Baseball Classic earlier this year. Other Brewers who got a mention for MVP were William Contreras, Jake Bauers, Cooper Pratt, and ace Jacob Misiorowski.
Turang had a stellar regular season, hitting .268 with 21 home runs and 100 RBIs. However, he has been fairly anonymous during the Brewers' run to the World Series. He's hitting just .222 in the postseason, with one home run and two RBIs to his name.
Only time will tell whether Turang will finally start producing in time to star in the World Series, as the two MLB Network personalities think he will.
