Portland Trail Blazers star Deni Avdija was caught calling out Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks during Wednesday night's 132-119 victory, accusing the veteran of flopping while standing at the free throw line.

Griffin S. DeMarrais of azfamily 3TV CBS 5 shared a video clip of the heated exchange on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing Avdija directing an expletive-filled remark toward Brooks.

“You're the bitch flopping, what are you talking about,” Avdija said.

The confrontation added another chapter to Brooks' growing list of on-court disputes early in the 2026-27 NBA season.

Avdija finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists while shooting 7-for-16 from the field, 1-for-5 from 3-point range and 6-for-9 from the free throw line across 35 minutes.

The 25-year-old helped Portland secure its third consecutive victory, improving to 6-1 on the season. Meanwhile, Phoenix continued its disappointing start, falling to 1-6 following another double-digit defeat.

Dillon Brooks involved in multiple heated exchanges against Blazers

Avdija's comments weren't the only controversy involving Brooks during Wednesday's matchup.

The Suns forward also had a heated confrontation with Portland guard Damian Lillard following a play near the sideline.

Brooks was called for stepping out of bounds while pump-faking against Lillard's defensive contest. Despite the whistle, Brooks continued his shooting motion and attempted a 3-pointer.

As Lillard extended his hand to contest the shot, Brooks appeared to extend his foot toward the veteran guard's Achilles area.

Lillard immediately confronted Brooks, prompting referees and Trail Blazers coaches to intervene and separate the players before the situation escalated.

The incident came just two days after Brooks was involved in another confrontation with Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green during Phoenix's 116-113 loss Monday night.

Brooks has established a reputation as one of the NBA's most outspoken and physical competitors throughout his career, frequently engaging in verbal exchanges with opposing players.

Against Portland, the 30-year-old recorded 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 35 minutes. He shot 7-for-15 from the field and 1-for-2 from the free throw line while missing all three of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Despite Brooks' contributions, the Suns struggled to contain Portland's offense, surrendering 132 points as their early-season difficulties continued.

Phoenix will look to reverse its fortunes after dropping six of its first seven games, while the Trail Blazers continue building momentum following their impressive start to the season.
