The Buffalo Bills will pay tribute to their Canadian neighbours when the new Highmark Stadium makes its debut.
Next Thursday's Week 2 showdown against the Detroit Lions will be the first contest held since the $2.2 billion arena was finished.
Buffalo sits near Lake Ontario -- or Lake America to some -- and the choice to play O Canada alongside The Star-Spangled Banner for the first time ever gives an indication of where the team sits on the issue.
Tensions are high between the two countries over a trade dispute, but people on both sides of the border are unlikely to feel much animosity.
Donald Trump tried to buy the Bills before he became President and may have something to say about the decision.
The Bills hosted the annual Return of the Blue & Red practice in August to show off the state-of-the-art new arena, and some fans were not impressed.

Multiple social media posts stairwells and glass panels blocking views for significant portions of the 60,000 spectators.
"We are currently addressing internal and external feedback regarding the facility's operation following the first event," the Bills responded.
The lead-architect defended the poor sightlines,ÃÂ while the team insisted any obstructions were flagged in the ticket buying process.
Former Bills safety Jordan PoyerÃÂ wasn't sold.
"I do think that it'sÃÂ fair for the fans to be concernedÃÂ and to be vocal about what's going on with their seats," he said on NFL on CBS.
"These fans pay hard-earned money to go to these games and to support the teams that they love.
"The Bills fans are passionate about the game of football.
"I know I would be p***** if I spent X amount of money and I come to my seat and find out I can only see half of the field. It's a topic that needs to be brought up and addressed.
"When you build this new stadium, it needs to be right for everybody, yeah you say you need to purchase different tickets or this and that, but these might be the only ones I can afford.
"I do think it's fair for the fans to be vocal and express their concerns but again, it's a new regime, it's a new stadium and it's beautiful and I am excited about the Bills this year."
All the concerns will be put to one side if the Bills play winning football and finally break a Super Bowl jinx that dates back to the 1990s.

The Bills will welcome the Lions to their new stadium on Thursday Night Football in Week 2, with both teams coming off a win.
Buffalo made a highly-rated Houton Texans defense look distinctly ordinary in their season-opener, with quarterback Josh Allen finishing with 334 yards passing with two touchdowns as well as two scores on the ground in the 36-31 win.
Tight end Dalton Kincaid had five receptions for 130 yards and new wide receiver DJ Moore had five catches for 100 yards.

The Lions, meanwhile, made hard work of the New Orleans Saints, almost blowing a 21-point lead but coming through in overtime, 31-30.
Thursday night's clash will see two of the NFL's best offenses go head-to-head, with Lions head coach Dan Campbell all to aware of what Allen brings to the party.
"Ultimately, I don't care what they throw at us; the quarterback is the key to all of this, and if we don't make him go the long, hard way every time, it can get very difficult," admitted Campbell.
"The guy that's under center or in the shotgun for them poses a lot of issues to your defense," Campbell went on.
"You have to check every box in your defense, from everything under center to the run game, the play-action pass, the three-step drop, to now you are in the gun: it's read-run, it's G-T pull with read-run, it's RPO, it's spread them out, it's open, now it's quarterback draw, it's not there, now I'll go here, I'm makaing this pass, now its a man check, im giving you this, we go, its not there, then I run out.
"He's got it all."
