With the Buffalo Bills shredding the Detroit Lions on Thursday night, 41-31, the team didn't leave the game unscathed as star wide receiver DJ Moore left the game with a shoulder injury. As fans hope that Moore returns for the Bills in Week 3, this NFL insider would give insight into how the injury is seen after the contest.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, league insider Ian Rapoport said that Moore sustained an AC joint sprain, which is the “best-case scenario” for the veteran receiver. Calling it a “good outcome” for Buffalo, the team will put him as “day-to-day.”

“It means that it's probably the best-case scenario. I mean, landed hard. You know, all the Twitter doctors were kind of up in arms about, you know, reading his eulogy and all that,” Rapoport said. “And then it's like sprain AC joint day-to-day. We'll see if he's able to play next week.”

“They got kind of a little extra time, obviously, because they played on Thursday, but not major, separated shoulder essentially, which is what an AC joint sprain is,” Rapoport continued. “I think you know should be okay long term for sure. So definitely good outcome for the Bills.”

Moore had been off to a great start for the Bills after acquiring him in the offseason, growing to become the No. 1 target in the high-powered offense, led by star quarterback Josh Allen. In the Week 1 36-31 win over the Houston Texans, Moore recorded five catches for 100 yards and a touchdown on eight targets.

Going down in the second quarter on Thursday, Adam Schefter reported after the game that “doctors do not consider” the injury serious and “has a chance to play” in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“He has a chance to play next week (vs. the Chargers), but it’s not a lock, either,” Schefter's source said on the shoulder injury to Moore.

It remains to be seen if Moore will be ready to go by then, as the bright side is that Buffalo has a long week with the Thursday game.
