Yaxel Lendeborg is on an impressive run amid his rookie season with the Golden State Warriors. After a handful of seve games in the NBA, he’s earning high praise from teammates and analysts.
Recently, sports media personality Bill Simmons endorsed the star forward as an All-Star with the Bay Area team. The rookie has already made a major impact for the Golden State, and Simmons thinks his early performances deserve serious attention.
“Yaxel has a chance to be an All-Star. That's how good he's been,” Simmons said while discussing Lendeborg and fellow rookie Cameron Boozer. “And I think he's invigorated them. They didn't even play Curry tonight, and they still won.”

With Stephen Curry and Draymond Green resting, the forward scored a career-high 37 points in Golden State's 124-112 win over the LA Clippers. He shot 13-of-19 from the field, made six 3-pointers, and added six assists.

Through his first seven NBA games, Lendeborg is averaging 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. Only Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry had previously averaged at least 20 points through their first seven games with the franchise.
Golden State has won four straight after opening the season 0-3. Lendeborg has averaged 25 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists during that stretch, giving the team another scoring option alongside Curry.
Lendeborg's early production has already changed expectations for Golden State. If he continues performing at this level, Simmons' All-Star prediction could become more than an early-season talking point.
