Coach Ben Johnson's Chicago Bears took on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8 action with new defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons in the lineup. The Bears put pressure on Seahawks QB Sam Darnold as the All-Pro defensive lineman Simmons made his presence felt early on.
Simmons marauded through the interior of the Seahawks' defensive line, sacking Darnold as he celebrated while decked out in orange and navy blue. He made general manager Ryan Poles look good as the Bears' defense dominated early.
Simmons and the Bears held the Seahawks to less than 60 yards past the midway point of the second quarter while quarterback Caleb Williams came out firing with a touchdown pass to Luther Burden III in the first quarter. The score remained 10-3 in favor of Chicago as the Seahawks attempted to claw their way back with the first half running out at Lumen Field in Seattle.
