The Chicago Bears managed pretty well during their three weeks without star quarterback Caleb Williams. Ben Johnson and company went 2-1 without Williams while he missed the last three games with a hamstring injury, collecting victories over the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets before falling to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Now, Williams is back at practice and is expected to make his return for the 3-2 Bears in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons. Unfortunately, it looks like he may be without one of his top weapons at running back. Kyle Monangai is still dealing with thumb and toe injuries and did not practice on Wednesday, per Dan Wiederer of The Athletic.
There are still a few practice days left this week before the Bears head off to Atlanta, so there is some time for Monangai to get back on the practice field if he is going to be able to go this week. But this update is a bad sign to start the week off.
