The Chicago Bears are playing out of their minds in Week 3. Without star quarterback Caleb Williams, Chicago was considered a heavy underdog against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, late in the third quarter of Monday Night Football, Chicago holds a two-touchdown lead against Philly. Unfortunately, though, one of their key players exited the game due to a serious injury.
Bears left tackle Braxton Jones has exited the game due to what looks like a knee injury. During a pass-blocking rep, it seemed like Jones tweaked his knee. Now, it's been reported that the left tackle is now doubtful to return to the game.
A big reason for the Bears' success over the course of last season was their stellar offensive line. Braxton Jones has been the anchor of this offensive line, helping protect Williams' blindside. Against the Eagles, Jones did a terrific job protecting veteran quarterback Case Keenum from getting hit too much in his first game back in the league. Unfortunately, it looks like Jones won't be returning to the game any time soon.
Keenum has been playing excellently for the Bears in Williams' absence. His primary job as the emergency quarterback has been to be a stable, dependable rock under center, and he's done exactly that. He's led Chicago to 20 points against a stout Eagles defense, all while making a few gutsy throws to challenge Philly's defense.
The Bears are looking to get back on track after a brutal loss in Week 2 to the Minnesota Vikings. After losing 9-3 to their division rivals, it seems like Chicago has landed back on their feet and is ready to roll.
