The Arizona State Sun Devils picked up a big 28-17 win over Kansas State last week, easing some of the pressure on Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham amid their slow start. Freshman quarterback Jake Fette led the team to two decisive touchdown drives in the fourth quarter after starter Mikey Keene's injury. And now, he is set to take on an even bigger role.

Per Pete Thamel of ESPN, Fette is in line to start on the road against No. 8 BYU. There's still a chance Keene starts, but he will likely be a gametime decision.

Fette is set to be the Sun Devils' third starter at quarterback this season. Transfer Cutter Boley started the season under center, but he was benched by Dillingham in their loss to Texas Tech. Keene then took over as the starter against K-State, but was subsequently hurt. Boley again struggled when called upon, so Dillingham decided to go with the freshman Fette.

Fette finished just 3-of-6 with 45 yards against Kansas State, but he did enough to lead the Sun Devils to two late scoring drives, which were both capped off by Cardae Mack touchdowns.

Mack finished with 159 yards and four touchdowns in the game, and he will be tasked with carrying the offense against BYU should Fette start. The freshman running back has exploded for 150 or more yards in two of his last three games.

Arizona State's freshman backfield will take on a BYU team that is still smarting after their stunning 39-31 loss to UCF last week. Like BYU's win over Notre Dame the week before, the UCF game had some controversy in the form of a roughing the kicker penalty on BYU that led to UCF scoring the game-winning touchdown in double-overtime.
