Newly released bodycam footage from Arike Ogunbowale’s March arrest in Miami shows a tense moment involving Dallas Wings teammates Paige Bueckers and Ogunbowale. An officer could be seen pointing a Taser toward Bueckers as police moved to arrest Ogunbowale.
The footage was recorded around 4:20 a.m. March 5, outside E11EVEN Miami, where Ogunbowale and several WNBA players had been celebrating Mist BC’s Unrivaled championship.
Ogunbowale was arrested after police accused her of punching a security staff member during an incident outside the club. She was charged with misdemeanor battery and later released on a $1,000 bond.
As officers moved to take Ogunbowale into custody, Bueckers stood beside her teammate and put an arm around her. The video shows Bueckers trying to calm the situation while an officer ordered those around Ogunbowale to back away.
“We got her,” Bueckers told the officer.

The officer then raised his Taser toward the group. At one point, it was pointed toward Bueckers’ face as she stood next to Ogunbowale. Jackie Young was also confronted with the Taser during the exchange before the players eventually stepped away and allowed officers to take Ogunbowale into custody.
The group also included WNBA players DiJonai Carrington and Unrivaled host Maria Clifton. Clifton could be heard protesting the arrest as officers placed Ogunbowale in handcuffs.
The arrest came only hours after Ogunbowale helped Mist BC beat Phantom 80-74 to win the Unrivaled championship. The legal case did not continue for long. Prosecutors dropped the misdemeanor battery charge in May, and the case was marked closed.
