During Minnesota Timberwolves media day, Anthony Edwards weighed in on the team's recent trip to France for Rudy Gobert. Edwards mixed trademark humor with a broader message about the team's camaraderie after the trip.

“I didn’t do anything to like learn about France, I think I saw the Eiffel Tower for the first time with Rudy, Rudy put us on a nice little boat… what did I learn about my team, I learned, it’s going to be like a brotherhood”

The team's trip to France is Anthony Edwards showcasing the unity that he wants his team to share in the offseason. During 2025 Media Day, Edwards said he believes the team should build winning habits, such as bonding in the offseason, to improve team chemistry.

“That's where it starts. I think it starts in the summertime. It's just things guys don't know because we're not used to winning. I think winning starts with being together, and it starts in the summertime, man. We've got to be together. We've got to be a team.”

He also talked explicitly about brotherhood in September of last season, saying playoff-caliber teams have to be together and camaraderie can't come late in the season.

“The most important thing that I've learned, the teams that go deep in the playoffs, they're together. Like, they really care about each other,” Edwards said last September. “It's easy to say, ‘We brothers,' and act like it. … We can't wait until the All-Star break to try to become a team.”

It appears that Edwards and the Timberwolves are moving in the right direction to reemerge as a cohesive unit that can contend for the NBA championship.
