The Los Angeles Angels have officially decided to move on from manager Kurt Suzuki after just one season, declining the option in his contract ahead of the 2027 MLB campaign.

The decision comes after the Angels finished the 2026 season with a 62-100 record, marking the first 100-loss season in franchise history. Los Angeles also finished last in the American League West, extending its postseason drought to 12 consecutive seasons.

The managerial change comes as the organization prepares for a transition in ownership, with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment expected to take control of the franchise in early 2027, pending MLB approval.

The Angels confirmed the decision Wednesday in an announcement on their official X account, formerly Twitter, revealing that the club will work alongside the incoming ownership group to find a new manager and coaching staff for next season.
