On Thursday afternoon, the Atlanta Dream hit the floor for Game 6 of the WNBA Finals at home against the Golden State Valkyries. This game was played at the unusual start time of 12:30 pm ET, thanks to a scheduling conflict with the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena, with the Dream looking to extend their season after falling down 3-2 in the series earlier this week.
The Dream got off to a hot start to this one, ultimately taking a 32-15 lead after the first quarter of action, and Dream star Angel Reese wasted no time talking some smack to the Valkyries' bench amid the strong opening.
Reese has never been shy about letting her opponents hear about it when she makes a tough play, and that was certainly the case on Thursday afternoon. Reese had an epic start to this series, including a monster Game 2 in a road win for Atlanta, but has seen her production taper off a bit over the last couple of games, so Dream fans will certainly be happy to see her engaged early and often in Thursday's Game 6.
Meanwhile, concerns from Valkyries fans about their team getting off to a sluggish start due to the 9:30 am West Coast start time turned out to be fully warranted, as Golden State looked to be a step slow throughout the first half.
In any case, if the Dream are able to win this game, the series would shift back to San Francisco for a decisive Game 7, which would take place on Saturday at 8:00 pm ET at the Chase Center.
