Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream are in a do-or-die situation against the Golden State Valkyries in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals at State Farm Arena on Thursday. But as they say, a wounded team is a dangerous team.
The Dream are in survival mode after losing in Game 5, and Reese, with her fiery competitiveness, will not allow her team to be rolled over.
She, however, will have to stay balanced, especially emotionally. She mentioned the need to slow down instead of engaging the Valkyries in a run-and-gun affair.
“I think the pace of things (is key), especially when you're down, you try to get the basket fast, try to get the look as fast as you can. I think that leads to my offensive fouls because I'm trying to rip it quickly before I see a double (team). Or just trying to maximize opportunity right then and there,” said Reese in the video posted by Yahoo! Sports' Nekias Duncan.
“I think together, collectively, just making sure we are passing it ahead faster. Making sure that if they are up on that s***, we gonna make sure we're back on it. We can't continue to let them speed us up.”

The 25-year-old Reese is eager to bounce back after being held to seven points on 2-of-8 shooting in Game 5, although she contributed 15 rebounds and five assists.
The Defensive Player of the Year was also limited in Game 4, tallying eight points on 2-of-12 shooting, nine rebounds, and three assists. She also had six turnovers.
Reese acknowledged that she has to maximize her matchups if she wants the Dream to force a Game 7 and inch closer to winning her first title.
