Bournemouth are open to selling Alex Scott in January – but have slapped a price tag of over £100million on the midfielder.

The England international has caught the attention of some Premier League’s big hitters after delivering a string of impressive performances for the Cherries.

Whilst the possibility of a mid-season exit stands, Bournemouth will only sell if their £100m+ valuation is met by interested parties.

Chelsea and Liverpool have long been linked with the star with both clubs understood to be in the race for his signature.

The Blues tabled unsuccessful offers for Scott over the summer, while the Reds are understood to be in a strong position giving a pre-existing relationship with the player.

Any January deal for Scott will also hinge on whether Bournemouth are well positioned to retain their Premier League status.

Marco Rose’s side are currently 18th in the table and without a win from their opening six matches.

Scott is on the sidelines for the next month with a thigh injury picked up in England's 7-0 win over Croatia in the Nations League.

Why has Bournemouth's stance changed?

Bournemouth were orginally staunch in their stance of Scott not being for sale when dealing with interest over the summer.

However, after talks across the last few days, the door has now been opened for a potential exit.

Real Madrid have also scouted Scott, who is yet to sign a new contract at the Vitality Stadium.

His current deal at the club expires in 2028.

Despite their shortcomings in the summer, Chelsea retain an interest in Scott.

So do Liverpool, though they have two other options on their radar if a move does not materialise.

AS Monaco star Lamine Camara is one alternative after a deadline day move to Chelsea fell through.

talkSPORT's Ben Jacobs reported that Liverpool asked Camara to wait over a transfer, suggested they could make one next summer.

However, it's understood that Liverpool did not directly interfere with negotiations that took place between Chelsea and Monaco.

Manu Kone is another potential target, having had a move to Chelsea blocked by AS Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini.
